An attempt is made to assemble the long term records of optical and radio fluxes of a large sample of variable extragalactic sources in a search for correlated radio and optical events, using a linear cross correlation analysis to reinforce visual comparisons.
A search for correlated radio and optical variability for bl lacertae.
Here, we perform a correlation analysis on the long-term r-band and radio light curves. Results: in general, we confirm the ~100-day delay of the hard radio events with respect to the optical ones, even if longer (~200-300 days) time lags are also found in particular periods.
Cross-correlation analysis of the optical and γ-ray light curves in blazars shows that flux variations are generally correlated in both bands, however, there are exceptions. We explored this optical–gev connection in four flat spectrum radio quasars by a systematic investigation of their long-term optical and γ-ray light curves.
Performed a correlation analysis of optical and radio light curves for a large sample of active galactic nuclei, and found that 9 of the 18 sources with sufficiently long data showed positive radio-optical correlations, with the radio events lagging behind the optical by intervals ranging from 0 to 14 months.
We also find that the optical luminosity is strongly correlated with the soft x-ray luminosity.
Based on these formulas, the performance of radio frequency wireless systems with diversity reception in the presence of composite multipath and shadow fading is analysed. Furthermore, the performance of single-input–multiple-output free space optical communication systems impaired by atmospheric turbulence is investigated.
The review of the radio pulses acousto-optical correlator allows us to create an algorithm for calculation the correlation functions on the basis of pre-calculated instantaneous spectra of correlated pulse signals and it is given its interpretation in the form of a functional scheme.
Radio telescopes may need to be extremely large in order to receive signals with low signal-to-noise ratio. Also since angular resolution is a function of the diameter of the objective in proportion to the wavelength of the electromagnetic radiation being observed, radio telescopes have to be much larger in comparison to their optical counterparts.
Miller and others published a search for correlated radio and optical variability for bl lacertae. Find, read and cite all the research you need on researchgate.
(5) it is suggested that the difference between the spike profile of optical outburst and the broad profile of radio outburst (as an example, for the correlated optical radio outburst in 1979) could be explained by shock propagating through irregularities of energetic electrons and magnetic field along the jet, that is, the scale of the optical.
The most suitable technique for the correlation of shower arrival with radio pulses at these angles is the optical nrenkov technique [7,8). A p-meson detector would lack the directive qualities and require large areas of detector.
Sep 10, 2018 it used to be that the bar, in terms of both knowledge and hardware, was so high that only those truly dedicated were able to explore the radio.
Radio continuum and polarization maps are presented of four 'classical double' radio galaxies overlaid on optical emission-line images.
Abstractthe design of flexible cross correlation code on radio over fiber with optical interleaver is proposed in this paper. Radio over fiber (rof) refers to an analog transmission over fiber technology whereby light is amplitude modulated by a radio signal and transmitted over an optical fiber link to facilitate wireless access.
These methods will be enhanced to study correlation effects at interfaces of strongly correlated materials, for example an interface of a mott insulator and a ferroelectric. This project will promote teaching, training and learning via intensive integration of undergraduate and graduate students into the research effort.
Unfortunately no x-ray measurements are available at this epoch. From these contemporaneous xay and radio flux measurements, there is a strong suggestion of correlated radio and xay intensity variations, which may have a common origin.
There is a fundamental limit on the capacity of fibre optical communication system (shannon limit). This limit can be potentially overcome via using nonlinear frequency division multiplexing.
Telecommunication is the transmission of information by various types of technologies over wire, radio, optical or other electromagnetic systems. It has its origin in the desire of humans for communication over a distance greater than that feasible with the human voice, but with a similar scale of expediency; thus, slow systems (such as postal mail) are excluded from the field.
Plasmon-induced optical field enhancement studied by correlated scanning and to radio frequency antennas, metal nanoparticles operate as optical antennas in we find that distinct topological features on the surface of the nanopart.

The radio sources associated with cooling flows show two distinct morphologies. In most sources, the jets appear to be inflating distinct lobes of radio plasma. These sources show strong faraday rotation, radio pressures in agreement with the x-ray gas pressure, and a radio x-ray spatial anti-correlation.
The analysis of the data assembled during the first four campaigns (comprising also archival data to cover the period 1968-2003) revealed a fair optical-radio correlation in 1994-2003, with a delay of the hard radio events of ~100 days. Moreover, various statistical methods suggested the existence of a radio periodicity of ~8 years.
We examine the optical colors of these subsamples and find that radio quasars with core emission unresolved by first (on ~5'' scale) have a redder color.

We describe the arrival time measurements and timing modeling of the periodic radio flares and optical brightness variations of the m9 ultracool dwarf, tvlm 513-46546. We confirm the stability of the observed period and determine its best-fit value to be 7054. 007 s over the last 7 years, based on both the new and archival radio observations and the archival optical data.
This candidate list is processed by optical correlation for final identification. We present the experimental demonstration of database search using a 3500- fingerprint candidate list. More specifically, we have operated on group-1 fingerprints, for which the lack of bifurcation, center and delta prevents efficient electronic classification.

Through analysis of available optical spectrophotometric data and radio flux density measurements in the literature, it is demonstrated that a good correlation exists between the radio power and bolometric luminosity of the optically-selected osos in the bright quasar sample (bos) of schmidt and green (1983).
Optical observations of another quasar, pks1921 – 29, which may also show correlated radio and optical variability are reported here.
A preliminary investigation of lobe-dominated quasars reveals similar correlated radio and optical asymmetries. This demonstrates that the lobe distance asymmetries and the presence of thermal line-emitting gas are directly linked and provides the first direct evidence that environmental effects are responsible for the structural asymmetries of powerful radio sources.
Evidence for a correlation between a recent radio outburst in 0235+164 and the optical outburst of early 1979 is presented. The simultaneous peaks of the optical and radio emission have the same.
Radio frequency (rf) driven hybrid gas–water plasma for tooth whitening was developed and the plasma chemical reactions with de‐ionized (di) water were studied. Plasma operating conditions, such as rf input power and argon flow rate were correlated with plasma lengths.
Using complete samples of steep-spectrum quasars, we present evidence for a correlation between radio and optical luminosity which is not caused by selection effects, nor caused by an orientation dependence (such as relativistic beaming), nor a byproduct of cosmic evolution.
For the first time, long-term records of radio and optical fluxes of a large sample of variable extragalactic sources have been assembled and compared, with linear cross-correlation analysis being used to reinforce the visual comparisons. Only in the case of the bl lac object oj 287 is the correlation between radio and optical records strong.

The optical flux level is compared to the phase and flux level of the model flares. Seven sources show clear correlations using the dcf analysis with six more showing a possible correlation between optical and radio events with time lags from zero to several hundred days. For twelve sources at least one simultaneous optical and radio event is seen.
One of the main issues in the study of this huge dataset has been the search for correlations between the optical and radio flux variations, and for possible.
Oct 2, 2018 the correlations of galaxy position angles and find a pearson correlation insight into the emission processes of radio and optical galaxies.
The coherence of two waves expresses how well correlated the waves are as quantified by the cross-correlation function. Cross-correlation quantifies the ability to predict the phase of the second wave by knowing the phase of the first. As an example, consider two waves perfectly correlated for all times.
